KOM Networks, a leader in innovative data management and archiving software solutions, is now shipping Shieldworx version 3.1.
Shieldworx data protection converts any Network Attached Storage (NAS) appliance or file server into a SEC-compliant online archive without impacting existing data. Shieldworx enhances content-, record-, and document management, e-mail archiving and digital asset management applications.
"With Shieldworx, documents can be stored in a designated archive volume on disk so that they are unalterable, even by their owners, privileged administrators, and viruses — even unknown or undiscovered viruses — that successfully impersonate owners," said Dan Tanner, Vice President for Business Development at KOM Networks.
Shieldworx complements Web publishing applications by rendering published volumes in a read-only state that will prevent any modification or manipulation of published of data, regardless of the user access privileges and the intent (malicious or accidental).
"Shieldworx provides drag and drop on-line archiving to hard disk, protecting data in its original form without requiring expensive proprietary hardware or complicated storage management" says Steve Kenniston, Analyst at Enterprise Storage Group."
