KOM Networks to demonstrate KOMworx latest offering at the RSNA Annual Meeting in Chicago
Ottawa ON, Canada – November 23, 2005
KOM Networks, a global leader of storage management software solutions including Compliance, Archiving and Information Lifecycle Management (ILM), will showcase KOMworx latest offering at the RSNA 2005 Annual Meeting, November 27 – December 2, 2005 in Chicago. KOM Networks will highlight its File Replication, e-WORM and Data Shredding solutions that empower healthcare customers to drive out complexity and related costs from their data management infrastructure at the RSNA 91st Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting.
“As an innovation leader in archiving and compliance enabling solutions, KOM Networks is constantly enhancing its portfolio of healthcare and medical offerings, helping physicians archive their digital images safely and securely,” said Dr. Shaath, Chief Executive Officer of KOM Networks. “KOM Networks’ proven track record includes an impressive list of institutions such as Mount Sinai Hospital, Cleveland Clinic, Spacelabs Medical and Duke University Health Systems that have archived data securely using KOM Networks software,” he added.
KOM Networks will demonstrate File Replication, Fixed Content Archiving on Hard Disk (e-WORM) and the latest in ‘data shredding’ that enable hospitals, radiology groups and imaging centers to archive and instantly retrieve data-intensive digital images while meeting regulatory requirements such as the Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA).
File Replication:
KOMworx File Replication enables customers to sustain multiple copies of their files on competing storage technologies increasing availability, protecting against data loss and significantly improving recovery from a disaster or system outage. KOMworx provides two levels of automated file replication, which at the hard disk level will replicate files to replica storage resources that may of the same type and from the same vendor or could be a completely different product altogether.
Data Shredding:
KOMworx data ’shredding’ capability has been designed and developed to help organizations meet the stringent demands of file retention requirements along with the ability to shred expired files that require physical disposal. The feature assists organizations in meeting regulations on data retention and disposition and can be used in a wide range medical and health related industries.
e-WORM:
KOM Networks developed the e-WORM solution based on a patented technology, which transparently archives files to High Performance RAID arrays and other hard disks for long-term data retention. With e-WORM radiologists and physicians can archive their data and protect it from being altered or deleted during the storage retention period.
RSNA 2005 provides KOM Networks the ideal location to highlight the powerful and feature rich product capabilities to its intended audience. The Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) is dedicated to promoting and developing the highest standards of radiology and related sciences through education and research. The society seeks to promote research in all aspects of radiology and related sciences, including basic clinical research in the promotion of quality healthcare. By implementing KOMworx in their IT environment organizations will be armed with the resilience they need to protect, access and dispose off data and images as required.
